DRAMA, AS CORP MEMBER PROPOSES AMIDST CHEERS

Orientation Report... Parade rehearsals was abruptly halted in one of the NYSC Orientation camps in northern Nigeria when a male corps member openly proposes to his female platoon member. The attention of the entire 10 platoons of corps members available in camp and military commanders were drawn when he humbly knelt down to ask the beautiful girl if she will marry him. But it was later realized its actually one of those dramas seen everyday in NYSC Orientation camps across Nigeria. See video:

CORPS MEMBERS SLEEPING ON DUTY

Skills Exhibition And Acquisition Development (SAED) lectures in NYSC Orientation Camp in Katsina left some of the Corps members falling asleep amidst important subject being discussed. The reason, according to one of the Corps Member who pleaded anonymity, is the meal (Akamu & beans) that was served earlier in the morning before the SAED lectures.

ZAMFARA STATE GOVERNMENT ASSURES CORPS MEMBERS OF SAFETY THROUGHOUT THEIR SERVICE YEAR

Zamfara State NYSC Coordinator has assured BATCH B Stream II Corps Members who will be dispatch to their Places Of Primary Assignment in Zamfara State after their Orientation Camp in Katsina, of their government readiness to make sure nothing will happen to any of them. He went further to encourage them that the state is very peaceful and accommodating to everyone. But he warned that they should be of good conduct in order to earn the respect of their host communities. He advised every Corps Member posted to the state to respect the laws guiding the people of the state. He laid emphasis on moderate and decent dressing from the corps members, stressing that indecency in dressing, disrespect to to authorities and unruly behaviors will end up causing misunderstanding between the Corps member and his/her new environment. He also encourage them to be of positive impact to their host communities.

THE REMAINS OF FORMER UN SECRETARY GENERAL ARRIVED GHANA

The Kofi Annan Funeral Committee in consultation with the family of the Former UN Secretary-General has released details of his burial arrangements in Accra. Kofi Annan, who was the 7th Secretary General of the UN, died in Switzerland three weeks ago after a short illness. Addressing the press in Accra, Information Minister-designate, Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah, said body of the former UN boss will arrive on September 10 accompanied by his widow Nane Maria Annan, children and some officials from the UN. The remains will be received with a brief ceremony led by the Ghana Armed forces and the President of the Republic Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo before being  moved to the Accra International Conference Centre. Amir was driving at a very high speed of over 200km/hr around 12noon within Sokoto Airport Road, in an area called Bado, when the accident happened. With him in the car were Khalifa Maccido, son of Aliyu Macciddo, and a girl he allegedly imported from Kaduna to have fun with. Witnesses at the scene of the crash said Amir had been drunk while driving, and that a bottle of Benelyn Codeine syrup was found in the car.
