It is administered by CAF and is played between the best national teams of Africa, exclusively featuring players who are active in the national championships and qualified to play in the ongoing season. Over the years, CHAN Super Eagles is a collection of players in the NPFL with outstanding performances for their respective clubs. Ekene Ezenwa(FCIU), Mfon Udoh(Enyimba), Stephen Eze(FCIU) and Ifeanyi Ifeanyi(Akwa Utd) are the various outstanding players called up by Coach Salisu for this year's CHAN tournament Other notable names who have also been called up are Alhassan Ibrahim, Elisha Golbe and Rabiu Ali, from Akwa United, Plateau United and Kano Pillars respectively. AKWA STARLETS APPOINT NEW TECHNICAL ADVISER

By Asuquo The management of Akwa Starlets Football Club of Uyo, in the early hours of today unveil Mr. Lawrence Kingsley as the new Technical Adviser to head the already existing coaching crew. The Uyo based Club has been without a Technical Adviser since the commencement of the 2016/17 NNL season. The Head Coach, Mr. Emmanuel Ntuk, was saddle with responsibility of recruiting, training and managing the technicality of the team until now. Coach Lawrence Kingsley before his latest appointment was incharge of another Akwa Ibom State owned club, Ibom Youth FC which is currently playing in the Nationwide League, a 3rd cadre league in Nigeria. He also had a stint with Gabros FC as the Technical Adviser, and between 2013-2015 had his first experience incharge of Akwa Starlets. Japan plans to join a mission to build a space station in the moon’s orbit in 2025, as part of a wider ambition by NASA to send a mission to Mars. Image: REUTERS By investing in the project, the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency, JAXA , hopes that it will win a space on the station, from which it would eventually send an astronaut to the moon. It would be the first time that a Japanese astronaut had gone beyond the international space station.

AKWA UNITED FORCED ABIA WARRIORS TO A DRAW

The match which was played at the Umuahia Township Stadium saw the home side making early incursion into the visitor's defence which was solidly marshaled by the superlative Skipper Otobong Effiong, together with CHAN Eagle's invitee Ariwa Emmanuel, Sand Eagles Godspower Igudia and Kodjovi Dadzie. The Coach Abdullahi Biffo side came into the encounter with high expectations having lost at Maiduguri over the weekend to El Kanemi Warriors, but it was going to be yet another disappointing fixture for the Umuahia based club. CHELSEA AGREED TERMS WITH REAL MADRID FOR ALVARO MORATA

By Uyire Chelsea have agreed terms with Real Madrid for the signing of striker Alvaro Morata, the Premier League club have announced. The deal is now subject to agreeing personal terms with the player and passing a medical, according to the club. The Spain international played last season at the Bernabeu after spending two years with Juventus. Morata, who had been wanted by a number of Europe's top clubs including Manchester United and AC Milan, scored 15 goals in 26 La Liga games, mostly as a reserve last season.

Szczesny undergoes Juventus medical JULY 18, 2017 Wojciech Szczesny has arrived in Turin to undergo his Juventus medical ahead of signing a contract with the Bianconeri. The 27-year-old Polish international enjoyed his best season to date at Roma last season, having spent two seasons on loan in the capital. As such, The Bianconeri have identified Szczesny as an heir apparent to Gigi Buffon who will be ending his illustrious career next summer. Juve are expected to pay €10m and a further €2m in bonuses for the keeper who is expected to earn €3.5m per season.

The 2017 Batch ‘A’ (Stream II) Orientation Course as scheduled will commence on Wednesday, 26th July, 2017 nationwide. Highlights of the exercise are as follows: a. Registration/verification: Wednesday 26th July – Thursday, 27th July, 2017 b. Registration Cut-off date: Midnight of 27th July, 2017 c. Akwa United Spanked Gombe United To Keep Title Hope Alive

By Godwin Inamoto The trio of Ibrahim Alhassan, Musa Newman and Christian Pyagbara played major roles for Akwa United as they trounced relegation threatened Gombe United 3-0 at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo on Sunday to move into the top-three as the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) enters its run-in stage. Christian Pyagbara came off the bench to make massive contribution as Akwa United scored three past Struggling Gombe United. Pyagbara who has been rested in recent matches came on in the second half as Akwa United coach, Abdu Maikaba tried to tweak his team against a very confident Gombe United who held Nasarawa United to a 1-1 draw the last time they were on the road. Musa Newman broke the deadlock in the 57th minute before Ibrahim Alhassan converted a penalty and Christian Pyagbara completed the scoring for the Promise Keepers.
