AKWA STARLETS OUTSHONE FIRST BANK IN UYO

Akwa Starlets displayed dominance in their week 26 fixture over First Bank FC at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo.
The highly entertaining game saw First bank starting with two of former Akwa Starlets players in persons of Usman UMEDE and Spencer BASSEY, but the home boys took charge from the very first minute of proceedings, dominating play and creating begging chances, which they failed to convert.
It was until the 27th minute for the home side broke the deadlock, through a beautiful passing build-up orchestrated by the experience Skipper Godwin Inamoto, which ended up with Utibe Archibong in the six, he shot it directly towards the goalkeeper who spilled it for Aniekeme Okon to bury at the top corner of the net and that was the only goal in game.
In their quest for a second goal, Coach Nsikak Lawrence introduced Nsikak for Wisdom Fernando, Samuel Ekure and Kolawole Israel for Kingsley and Utibe respectively, but their introduction could only secure the maximum points, but had no impact on the scoreboard.
Meanwhile, Akwa Starlets next match is The Aiteo Federation Cup scheduled for Wednesday 16th, at Ekiti against Moyero FC.
Little is known about Moyero FC, and the Uyo based Club will be banking on the fine form they displayed against First bank FC when they file out against their Federation Cup opponent.
